Times have changed in the forty years since the first golf ball was teed up at Mid Carolina Club. What hasn’t changed is the Club’s focus on providing a quality recreational facility at a reasonable cost for the residents of the Midlands.

Founded in 1968 by a group of local golfers, Mid Carolina Club is a 6679-yard, par 72 course designed by Russell Breeden. The course takes full advantage of the natural rolling terrain and water comes into play on seven holes. A large driving range and two putting greens provide ample practice areas. Mid Carolina Club boasts a beautiful backdrop for your golf game. There are no homes on the course, no views of someone’s back yard. From beginners to scratch golfers, MCC provides a pleasant but challenging game. Located just off of I-26 at the Prosperity exit 82, Mid Carolina Club is an easy 20-minute drive from Columbia. This convenient location is excellent for meetings and corporate outings, too. MCC has facilities for wedding receptions, banquets, tournaments and meetings. PGA Professional Lee Duncan offers lessons and clinics for golfers of all ages. MCC has numerous member associations that allow for every golfer to find his or her niche to play in. These associations include the Men’s & Ladies Golf Associations, Senior Men’s Golf Association, Hacker’s Golf Association and the Open Men’s Group. Each of these organizations has reserved tee times throughout the week and also sponsor tournaments during the year. Whether you are looking for a friendly group or for more serious competition, you can always find a game at MCC. The well stocked pro shop features a wide selection of apparel for men and ladies, shoes, golf balls and the latest in golf equipment. All competitively priced and serviced by knowledgeable staff. Our course is family-friendly and features junior tee markers. Encouraging families to be involved continues the traditions that started in 1968 with 200 members believing that a recreational facility would provide a fun, healthy and safe place for their families to socialize and become involved in such a timeless sport. The golf teams at Mid Carolina High School, Dutch Fork High School and Newberry College all call Mid Carolina Club home. Mid Carolina Club is a semi-private facility offering family and corporate memberships, as well as allowing some public play. There are a limited number of memberships currently available. Mid Carolina Club is proud of the fact that 2008 marked 40 years of providing great golf. Over half of the Club’s members have been members for more than ten years, and of those many have been members for more than 20 years. Twenty of the original “Charter” members from 1968 are still involved with the Club. Mid Carolina’s staff has longevity that is rare in the workplace, but even more so in the golf industry.
